Nursing perception in the care of patients with HIV / AIDS, in the light of Jean Watson

HIV / AIDS is the syndrome with the greatest social impact, since throughout history it has affected millions of people around the world. Currently, the diagnosed figures increase considerably. This is why it is important to know the perception of the nurse, since it is, they who will ultimately be responsible for providing the necessary care to the carrier and his family. The objective of this article is to describe the perception of nursing staff when providing care to patients with HIV/ AIDS, in light of the Jean Watson model, through an integrative bibliographic review of original articles and reviews found in databases, as EBSCOhost, SciELO, Dialnet and Elsevier. The review finally allows to identify the way in which nursing professionals conceive the care of patients with HIV/AIDS from Jean Watson’s attention model, giving priority to meet the needs of the patient through selfless work, which in the long term contributes to the training of the staff of Nursing in tendencies of intra / interpersonal care to this type of patients.
