Nursing care in the pregnant woman who accesses the voluntary interruption of pregnancy from Swanson's theoretical model

Abstract

Nursing care is fundamental in the process of gestation and assessment of the woman who accesses the Voluntary Interruption of Pregnancy. It is important to know the concepts and images perceived about the knowledge and care nurses have in their care. A comprehensive review of the studies was conducted in order to know nursing care in the pregnant woman to access the Voluntary Interruption of Pregnancy from Swanson's theoretical model. This study refers to the review of 50 articles and the research projects published in 2013 and 2018, with the aim of knowing the feeling of gestation that accesses the Voluntary Interruption of Pregnancy in front of nursing care from the theoretical model of Kristen Swanson. We consulted university repositories, digital libraries and databases of research journals such as SciElo, Redalyc, Dialnet. It is concluded that the different situations that women must face when they access the Voluntary Interruption of Pregnancy (IVE). From the theory of Kristen Swanson, the perception of women who agreed to the IVE, compared to the processes of care: "being with", "knowledge" and "maintaining beliefs", has presented several flaws, women have perceived the absence of emotional support from the professional nurse during the IVE process, dissatisfaction with how the emotional part of the health center is managed, low quality of knowledge and information provided by the nursing staff to their patients It was found that most of the women perceived a great distancing of the nursing professionals, talking about avoidance behaviors in the clinical and emotional care of the patients.
