Abstract

Introduction: Pregnancy involves physical changes, hormonal, psychological, and social with a direct effect in the general status of women. Depression is considered a disorder of great importance as one of the most common reasons for consultation in psychologically. Objective: Collect factors that trigger depression in pregnant women and common behaviors of women in state of pregnancy. Materials and methods: a bibliographic search in databases such as Medline, Scielo, Elsevier, Sciencedirect and Redalyc. Results: Social factors are those of greater psychological impact on the pregnant woman. On the other hand, the behaviors resulting from the depressive symptoms tend to decrease the interest and capacity of the pregnant woman to maintain care during pregnancy. Conclusions: The factors causing the depression in pregnant women are different, but found as most of which are similar in all women, regardless of the cause of your condition.
