Abstract

For the review the current state of self-supply in Colombia, it is necessary to determine several values or indicators that allow to describe how this panorama is found; For this it must talk about reserves, the price per oil barrel, investment sector, reserves replacement, daily pro- duction and finally the ratio of reserves / production, where the latter allows us to assess the country self-supply, the which is projected in 5.1 years, according to the information of Hydro- carbon National Agency ANH (Agencia Nacional de Hidrocarburos). The values reported in each of these indicators project a horizon not very favorable for the country, affecting in greater proportion to its economy, in addition to the impact it currently presents. Colombia must con- sider strategies for the development of new reserves and increased production, to get to take ad- vantage of the large amount of resources presented. For this Ecopetrol and the sector in general raises three technologies that could reach to increase 3 or 4 times the current self-supply, which are offshore, improved recovery and Non-Conventional Reservois (NCR).
