Abstract

This research presents the application of a methodology for the identification of electromyography signals through the recognition of patterns of the movement of the human hand. A study of the state of the art was carried out in order to identify the possible contribution in this field. Once the problem was characterized, optimal filters were used, by means of myoelectric signal processing with the Myo Gesture Control Armband device as an instrumentation system that was used to capture the signals using the current international regulations for surface electromyography. We show a development of a GUI in Matlab software used for the processing of the signal and the identification of some movements of the human hand. The obtained signals are analyzed and results obtained by applying this methodology are compared.
