Innovation and Collaborative Work in the University: perspectives to improve the educational environment

Abstract

Objective: In Mexico, collaborative work and innovation permeate the higher education spheres. However, it is not possible when the conditions of the place are not favorable. The purpose of the study is to demonstrate that collaborative work impacts on the personal, educational and work relationships of the students. Materials and methods: The work is supported by quantitative data applied to an enrollment of 254 university students. Results: This situation was favored because 40% of respondents agree with this idea, 36% consider that it is not significant to implement collaborative work. And only the remaining 24% commented that it is bad to innovate with this activity and prefer the individual work. Additionally, the innovation lies in the strategies that are implemented to enhance the skills and abilities of the students to solve various conflicts, and the higher level institution located in Amealco leaves much to say, first the teachers are not constant- ly updated to teach their classes, data according to 45% of the respondents; second, 52% of the sample alludes that educational innovation does not help foster collaborative work and finally, 83% mentioned that the professors have never managed innovation in their classes.Conclusion: It is necessary to highlight that innovation, collaborative work, communication and the use of technology are factors that directly impact the educational environment because through them the student can acquire an integral development in their school career and in the labor field.
