Abstract

Introduction: To cover the current revision of nursing care to the newborn premature is neces- sary to determine the different factors that allow describing how this extension is. For this it is necessary to talk about parental involvement, care of the premature, and finally the work of nursing, where the latter allows to evaluate the behavior of the profession. Materials and meth- ods: It is intended to know the perceptions of parents about the care provided by nursing in the premature newborns hospitalized in the intensive care unit of a private clinic in the municipal- ity of Florencia Caquetá, which was carried out with qualitative semi-structured interviews to parents who exceed more than five days of stay in the unit, living together, and being over 18 years of age. Results: This investigation allowed to know that there is an integral and human- ized care by the nursing staff before the hospitalization. The main feelings of the parents at the time of leaving the premature hospitalized in the neonatal intensive care unit were positive.
