Strength and theoretical limitations of national academic production on the interpretation of citizenship.

Abstract

The national academic production, has been approached from traditional notions of the concept, referring to a subject linked to the State, granting citizenship status in order to guarantee their rights and the fulfillment of their duties.

However, academic production announces significant variations from different historical events that shape citizenship characteristics, or the State guided by regulations and social cohesion that, as of the 1991 constitution, gives rise to new interpretations of citizenship since phenomena such as: armed conflict, violence, minority groups without recognition, among others.

Drawing a panorama of gradual reconfiguration and growing notions of citizenship. Mentioning the characteristics of citizenship such as: political project and historial construction, it refers to the process of academic production and research that have arisen in colombia between 1997 and 2017, wich have been the subject of reflection of the national context giving space to multiple worldviews about how citizens are conceived and how work in our environment.

Because of the above, the exercise of seeking, interpereting and relfecting around the main charactieristics or citizenship as¨: political project and historical construction, are accentuated in the research of citizenship in Colombia in order to determine the orientation that is being carried out, beyond the theoretical discussions, but also to glimpse the challenges that are being presented and recognize the new horizons concept research.
