Abstract

Background: Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is the virus responsible for the global pandemic of COVID-19 disease.
Objective: To describe the different aspects derived from vaccination against COVID-19 at a general level addressed in the scientific literature during 2021.
Methods: After a search in English in Pubmed, 40 articles were selected.
Results: The scientific literature addressed multiple aspects associated with vaccination against COVID-19 in terms of social, political-economic, health and post-vaccination effects.
Conclusions: In 2021, concern about the development of a safe vaccine has given way to reluctance to vaccinate against COVID-19, inequity in its distribution and prioritization, and the effects generated after its application.
