Abstract

Objective: identify the level and factors that influence stress in the nursing students of the Navarra-Neiva University Foundation, 2018. Methods: Descriptive quantitative study. In the methodology the recognized technique of SISCO Inventory of academic stress was used. Results: The study concluded that exams, academic overload, and lack of time are conditions that trigger stress in students. Jointly, it was evidenced that the level of stress in nursing students reaches a moderate level of 80%, due to academic stress. The physiological manifestations of the students were drowsiness or greater need to sleep, digestion problems, abdominal pain or diarrhea. Within the stressor or focal stimuli as stated by Callista Roy, academic overload stands out as the main factor in the current investigation. Some students mention coping with stress by resorting to religiosity.
