The book Cuidado, vulnerabilidad e interdependencias. Nuevos retos políticos (2016) by María Teresa Martín Palomo, is a key work for the study of care from an interdisciplinary perspective. The author, with extensive experience in gender studies and social policy, articulates concepts such as interdependence and vulnerability, based on qualitative and ethnographic analysis.
Throughout six chapters, the book addresses care from the perspective of gender, the materiality of domestic work, its moral and emotional dimension, the role of the State in social policies and the need for an ethics of care based on interdependence and affection. This work invites us to rethink care as a central element in the construction of fairer and more equitable societies.
