Pediatric stroke is known as the event that occurs between the 30 days after birth until 18 years old. Although this pathology is less common among children than adults, in the long term the morbidity and social impact is higher than the presented in adults. Ateroesclerosis and modifiable risk factors wich are predominant in adults are almost non-existent in pediatric ages. Ischemic stroke is the most common in children with approximately 51 to 78% of cases, while the hemorrhagic stroke occurs in 12.7 to 41% of cases and venous sinus thrombosis occurs in 8.9 to 20% of cases. It’s described a case of a 6 months old infant who is received in the pediatric service because of symptomatology of inconsolable crying, deviation of the look to the right, unconsciousness and decrease of muscular tone for about 15 minutes. It’s also described the initial management, complementary studies and home-care recommendations after discharge. In adition a brief literature revision is commented.
