Tuberculosis (TB) infection is a major public health problem worldwide, being the most common opportunistic infection in people infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and the leading cause of death in patients in low- and middle-income countries, such as Colombia. The interaction between Mycobacterium tuberculosis and HIV has been widely studied due to the diversity of clinical manifestations associated with the compromise of cellular immunity. Among these are atypical manifestations, such as hepatic tuberculosis, which represents less than 1% of extrapulmonary TB cases. In this context, we present a case of hepatic tuberculosis reported in a TB referral center in Bogotá, Colombia, being one of the few documented cases in the country.
