Abstract

Pott Puffy Tumor is a nowadays rare complication of frontal sinusitis due to the use of antibiotics. It may be presented in all ages, but is most common in adolescents. We describe the case of a female adolescent whom despite the antimicrobial treatment continues with the symptomatology and it evolves to Pott Puffy Tumor, requiring change in antibiotic treatment and surgical drainage in order to avoid further intracranial complications. This case highlights that although sinusitis is a common pathology, it’s essential its and adequate diagnosis, treatment and clinical and imaging following to prevent its complications and aftermaths.
