Spasticity is a common symptom seen in many neurological conditions, and it is considered a component of the upper motor neuron syndrome (UMNS), presenting as intermittent or sustained involuntary activation of muscles. Spasticity can be very disabling, which has a significant impact on the patients' quality of life and it requires an accurate management in order to avoid further complications and improve function. This article reviews the current pharmacological and nonpharmacological management of cerebral-origin spasticity.
